Piggery project

Farming Project

Our farm is situated in Busolo Village,Gomba district!

It’s from this farm that many jobless youths and helpless women are reached, trained and given a Pig or Hens as start-up capital for self-income generation to improve their lifestyle.

Poverty levels in this community is very high; with many living in abject poverty and limited or no access to the basic necessities of life such as; shelter, food, clothing, medication and education. Moreover 40% of households in the district are women headed characterized by absentee husbands or widowed. Widows are invariably amongst the poorest members of the community. They are also highly likely to be the guardians of orphans a legacy of the HIV/AIDS epidemic which has afflicted Uganda since the early 1980s.

Due to high levels of unemployment and their poverty background, a section of youths in the area live under despicable circumstances; with a huge burden to meet the welfare of their extended families yet without access to productive resources. There has never been a better way to preach the gospel of Christ’s love than through giving.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink …” Mathew 25:35

The goal of this project is to eradicate poverty and empower women and youths live in the most vulnerable and desperate conditions. Its objectives include the following;

      • To create income generating activities
      • To create self-employment opportunities
      • To promote self -reliance of the women
      • To improve the general standards of living of people in this area

The project aims to achieve this by distributing piglets and hens and training the targeted 500 households self-capital generation through piggery farming. Each beneficiary household will give back to two other women/youth from their first litters

A GOAT COSTS $40 *** 0 GOATS DONATED

One goat can change everything. Her milk provides a daily source of milk rich with protein, calcium, and vitamins that are especially important to growing children. Goat’s milk is easier to digest than cow’s milk. The family can also sell any extra to earn money for medicines and other necessities. For families that cannot take piglets for religious reasons or otherwise, a goat is the perfect alternative. This also gives us the opportunity to minister the love of Christ to these families.
